Sometime back in 2002, when
Manchester began it’s fightback
from a prolonged post-Britpop depression; Northern Ambition was set
up alongside a clutch of other energetic promoters and record labels
to give the city the kiss of life. Stephen Fretwell’s debut
mini-album 8 Songs got the label off the mark and set a standard
that could only be matched by the best new bands. Offering live gigs
to the most talented waifs and strays in town resulted in further
discoveries and records from bands such as The Beans, Nathan Burton,
Pioneers and Omerta. The label lives on today so sign up to our mailing
list for updates.
